Clare Renner is a Senior Advisor in the College of Design and Social Context at RMIT. Clare manages the Professional Writing and Editing Program and the Professional Screenwriting Program. An award-winning teacher of creative writing, she believes strongly in learning through practice and enjoys working with both emerging and established writers.
Clare has also written over 25 books of her own and as a freelance reviewer and critic, she has published articles and reviews in a range of journals and magazines.
Clare is the judge of our year nine creative writing competition.
Tye Cattanach, AFL Content Producer for the AFL will visit the year nine
media class to share her experiences with media and marketing.

In period 2 on Wednesday the 26th of July four of our wonderful Gen authors will come together for a special Litfest event.
Three of our teachers, all published authors in a range of different areas, Christine Paraskeva, Ann Rennie and James Gilchrist, will be interviewed by Julia Petricevic, teacher librarian and picture book author.
All of year seven will attend what proves to be an informative, interesting and enjoyable event.
In the style of the book Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls we would like everyone to create an A Minute with page. Write a little about smeone important to you. Perhaps someone from under your love umbrella or someone you admire or are interested in. A few words and an illustration.

To celebrate stories as a community we want everyone in the college to either read, or have read to them, the picture book Under the Love Umbrella by Davina Bell and Allison Colpoys.
Our theme for Litfest Under Our Story Umbrella is inspired by the book and the author and illustrator will be visiting the college during Litfest to run workshops with our prep to four students.

Readers, Stories, Literacy: A Forum for Learning and Discussion
During Litfest the Genazzano bookclubs and the our guests from the Xavier book clubs will come together to celebrate books and reading. Following afternoon tea in the d'Houet library we will listen to Katrina Lehman, Senior Editor from Penguin Random House who will share with us her work and answer questions.
Year Nine - Romeo and Juliet
Come along to the d'Houet library and participate in the litfest treasure hunt created by our Library Prefect.
Under the Gen Umbrella Treasure Hunt
Nicki Greenberg will work with our two year eleven literature classes. She will explore her graphic novel interpretation of The Great Gatsby as the students are studying Fitzgerald's text this year.
