Senior School Writer-in-Residence: Alice Pung

Alice Pung will work with students from Year 8 to Year 12 from Monday 17th June to Friday 21st June. She will also be our guest speaker at the LitFest Dinner on Thursday 20th June. Her most recent book, Close to Home, was published in 2018.

LitFest Dinner guest judge: Bec Kavanagh

Click on the image above to read an interview between Bec Kavanagh and The Stella Prize. She was the founder of A Thousand Words Festival, which celebrated young adult fiction. 

Bec Kavanagh will judge the LitFest Short Story Competition entries and announce the winners at the LitFest Dinner on Thursday 20th June. 

 

 

Book Sale for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation

The d'Houet Library will have a second-hand Book Sale running throughout LitFest. All proceeds will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation to help support their amazing work. Click on the image above to find out more about this important organisation. 

Year 11 Bombshells with Eagle's Nest Theatre

Year 11 students will view the performance of Bombshells by Eagle's Nest Theatre on Friday 14th June in Period 1 and 2.

Storytelling Evening with Kym Lardner

Kym Lardner will perform in the Grange Hill Library on Wednesday 12th June in Period 2 and also at the special evening event from 6pm to 7pm - bring your favourite teddy, wear your pajamas and get ready to laugh! 

Junior School Writer-in-Residence: Gabrielle Wang

Gabrielle Wang will work with Year 5 and 6 students on Friday 14th June in Period 1 to 3. She will work with the students from Prep to Year 4 in Period 1 to 3 on Tuesday 18th June. 

Book Club Literary Afternoon Tea with Melissa Keil

Click on the image above to read about our guest author for the Book Club Literary Afternoon Tea - Melissa Keil. She has written several successful young adult novels, all of which have been shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year for Older Readers. 

Melissa Keil will speak to the Genazzano and Xavier Book Clubs at a special afternoon tea event in the d'Houet library on Thursday 13th June.

Year 7 students will view the performance of Australian Poetry by Complete Works Theatre Company on Tuesday 18th June, in Period 3.

Year 9 Romeo and Juliet with Complete Works Theatre

Year 9 students will view the performance of Romeo and Juliet by Complete Works Theatre on Tuesday 18th June, in Period 1 and 2. 

Year 10 Macbeth with Complete Works Theatre

Year 10 students will view the performance of Macbeth by Complete Works Theatre on Thursday 13th June in Period 1.
